Article Writing Help for the Novice – 3 Tips

Article writing attracts new internet marketers because it is free and because it appears to be easy. Are you not sure where to start? This short article gives writing help for the novice.

In the beginning, you may find it easy to write about something familiar. It is not enough to put pen to paper or punch a keyboard and write a good article.

Although content is king, there are other factors to consider. Here are three tips to consider as you start your writing adventure and ultimately earn money from your efforts.

1) Title

Make sure your title grabs the reader so that he will want to read what you have to say. Use keywords in your title. Still, do not stuff your title with keywords. The title needs to make sense and it should promise the potential reader an answer to his spoken or unspoken question.

2) Keywords

Keywords are important. Without them, there is no exposure, no traffic to your site. Maintain a balance between content and keywords. You can easily insert keywords and keyword phrases in your content that are relevant to your content. Now that the search engines pay attention to Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI), there is very little reason to stuff your article with keywords or keyword phrases.

What is LSI? LSI is simply a search engine’s ability to find words related to your keyword not by definition of the keyword alone but more by the context of the keyword in the article.

LSI allows the author much more flexibility in his choice of words and, consequently, it allows an author the ability to write better content and still “sell” his product.

3) Brevity

Keep your articles short 300 – 700 words should be enough, of course, there are always exceptions. Remember that readers these days have a short attention span.

Read any documentation on web browsing and you will find that most web surfers do not spend more than a few seconds looking at a web page. Your article is no different.

There are many more hints and tips that can help writers improve writing skills and earn more money.

Article Writing – How to Overcome Writer’s Block – 4 Tips

Are you a new affiliate marketer? Do you remember writing your first article? You had a customer in mind.  You wrote like a river flowing in spring.  You showed your reader how to avoid pain, how to gain pleasure or, how to solve a problem. You wrote some other useful information. You knew what you wanted to say.

The muses and the juices were flowing. Then you wrote your second and third articles. Perhaps you wrote them easily as well. Somewhere along the way, it stopped.  You got writer’s block.  Has this happened to you?  You can overcome it. There are many ways to overcome writer’s block.

Here are four article-writing tips for writer’s block.  They will get you started again.

1)  One school of thought suggests that you start writing to break through writers’ block.  What kind of advice is this? That is exactly what I cannot do!  Are you joking? No. Start by free writing.  Write about anything that comes to mind.  Write crap. Write gibberish. Soon the muses will sing to you again and you can get on with your topic.  Just write.

2) Don’t begin at the beginning.  Start in the middle or at the conclusion of your topic. Very often, the hardest part of writing an article is the beginning. So do not start there. Start in the middle of the article or even start writing the conclusion. Just write.

3) Take a walk. Do something physical. Mow the lawn.  Get away from the computer. Take a pen and paper, if an idea comes to mind write it down. When you are done, do step two. Just write.

4) Pick a subject you might be passionate about or at least interested in and read as much information about it as you can.  Wait a day or two and then start writing off the top of your head as if you were talking to a friend about your interest.  Ernest Hemingway’s editor, Maxwell Perkins said, “Just get it down on paper, and then we’ll see what to do with it.” Just write.

There are many more hints and tips that can help writers improve writing skills and earn more money.  This short article touches only the surface of the art and craft of article writing in internet marketing. Besides learning the art of writing, you must learn how to sell your product with your words and you must learn how to market your own article.

Do you want to learn more about article writing? How to improve your writing? How to make money writing articles?  Of course you do.  You owe it to yourself to learn more about article writing and marketing.

Internet Marketing Tips – Do You Have to Be a Genius to Do This?

Do you have to be a genius to be a successful Internet marketer? It’s a pretty simple and straight forward question. The answer that I’m going to provide you with is probably going to surprise you in many ways. You might want to read what’s coming next. See, I am a genius.

No kidding. I was tested at an IQ of 148. That technically makes me a genius. However, the answer to the question I asked is going to surprise you. No, you don’t have to be a genius to be a successful Internet marketer. In fact, I’m not sure it even helps at all. Why do I say that?

When I first started doing this Internet marketing thing, I was a total failure. I made all of $28 in my first five months online. So obviously being a genius didn’t help me one bit. I had no clue what I was doing and it showed in my results.

See, it doesn’t matter how smart you are. Internet marketing is not a “smarts” kind of thing. It’s really very basic and by the numbers. Anybody who can read and understand simple instructions and hit a few keys on a computer can do this…successfully. The reason it’s not all that hard is because you don’t have to reinvent the wheel. You don’t have to think things to death. The basic concepts of marketing are simple. Find a hingry market, find a product that they want, and then give it to them in a way that makes them want to buy it.

And the beauty part of it is, you don’t have to think of this stuff yourself. Can’t write a sales letter? No problem. Go hire somebody who can. There are plenty of great copywriters who can write you a sales letter that will convert. Can’t write articles to get traffic? Hire somebody to do it for you. Once you learn the marketing techniques and what works to bring in traffic, there is no law that says you have to do each thing on your own. Do you think Donald Trump lays brick for every building he puts up?

Once you understand what is required to get a prospect’s attention and convert that prospect into a paying customer, the only thing left to do is execute the plan by putting all the pieces together. If that means you have to hire seven different people to put those pieces together, then do it.

You don’t have to be a genius to be a successful Internet marketer. What you have to be is motivated enough to get the job done.

To YOUR Success,

Easy Website Building – Newbies Beware! – The Most Overlooked Component

We have all seen them. Beautifully created websites with bells and whistles, all shiny and bright they shout glamour.  As a newbie, a novice, to Internet marketing you shrink at the prospect of your feeble attempt to create a professional looking website against all the competition.  I know. I have been there.  Fear not!

The most important part of web development but the least emphasized is marketing!  Words!  Let’s not forget content.  You may have the best-looking website on the block, but if your content is ineffective, there are no customers.  Not getting customers you soon get discouraged and its over.  You are finished.  You give up.

Building your first website is easy with today’s free easy website building tools.  Blogger.com, WordPress.com, and Wordpress.org are just three of the more popular website building tools available to create your website.  Within a few hours, a newbie can have a respectable looking website up and running.

For the novice, web design and web development are synonymous.  Web design leans more toward the presentation of the website.  While web development leans more to the functionality of the website.  Some may argue with those definitions.

Too often, the novice pays too much attention to the presentation of his website and not enough to its functionality.  You certainly want your website to be pleasant to the eye of the visitor.

Content is just as important as the presentation.   As a beginner, you often overlook this part of the equation.  I have seen some very basic looking webpages/websites with very compelling words.  Words that make me want to go pull out my credit card right now.

Never mind that they look like a child’s coloring book full of colors and different sizes of print.  They work or they wouldn’t be out there.  This is not to say that you do not want to have a nice looking website.  Yes, you do.

Beware of the “this is my baby” mentality and forget the main purpose of your webpage/website – SALES.  Pay as much attention to the word content of your website or webpage as you do to the visual presentation.

A good coaching program can guide you and teach you not only how to install the software, but also what to do with it once you have it installed.

More importantly, it can teach you how to make money with your new site using the right content.
